We are one
On the 3rd of May 2019 I celebrated my one year anniversary of coach Lucy. The party was held to give something back to all of the people who have supported me on my business journey.
The prize-giving event was so much more than just a party to celebrate one year of Coach Lucy - it was a celebration of an ever-growing community. I am so overwhelmed by the amazing support and that over 75 of our amazing people made it to celebrate what was one of the best nights of my life.
The evening kicked off with a drinks reception and a prize-giving. Some of the awards given out on the night included ‘Most Motivated’, ‘Life Changer’ and ‘The Heart of Gold’ award. After the awards the guest were treated to a street food style dinner, which was served with fully recyclable plates and cutlery.
One of the charities that will benefit from the impressive funds is the Beatson Cancer Charity, which was chosen as there are some ladies within the Coach Lucy community currently fighting cancer. The other charity that will receive the money is the Scottish Association for Mental Health.
Winner of the 'Most Improved' award Taylor Mcilwraith said “The effort put in to the event, to not only raise money but celebrate award winners, was outstanding. Both charities hold a special place in my heart so it was lovely to see the amount raised. I started with Coach Lucy in October 2018. It has been the best decision I've made in a long time. It's a community of the nicest, most down to earth ladies who all get along and work hard together to achieve goals.”
Mental and physical health is something that I am extremely passionate about. Over the last year I have tried to show how physical exercise can impact your mental health for the better. Exercise will always be a part of my life in so many ways, not just to keep me in shape but to look after my mind.
I wanted Coach Lucy to be more than just hitting the gym for a few weeks before you go on your holidays. Regardless of whether you come to classes, personal training or bootcamp you are part of something so special, no matter how long you have been with us. I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported the event. We never had an amount in mind that we wanted to raise but I think we have really outdone ourselves with the total we are donating.
I was and still am so overwhelmed by the amazing support for our first birthday. We had some of faces missing but over 75 of our amazing team made it celebrate what was one if the best nights of my life. I have never felt as proud as I did that night, everything from the prize giving to our unreal food from the extremely talented Darren Liddel and our cupcakes too Cally Bakes you the best gal. I couldn't and wouldn't have changed a thing.
I set out a year ago to start something that I was proud of not just to have a business and well we absolutely smashed that. Regardless if you come to classes, personal training or bootcamp you support my business and dreams in so many ways. You are part of something so special no matter how long you have been with us.
A special thanks to Michelle and Donna and wee Suzan too along with my mum and all the other amazing ladies who helped to make last night run as well as it did. Thank you to Taylor and Sara for helping me set up the hall.
